CEBU CITY, CEBU – Diners continue to flock to Harbour City Dimsum, one of the most popular restaurants in Cebu serving authentic Chinese cuisine.

As far as I can remember, the Harbour City Dimsum has always been an all-time favorite restaurant for Cebuanos.

I know for a fact that this dim sum house takes pride in their specialty which is the steamed rice. I have been away from my home in Cebu but I can still remember the unique taste of this dish. Unfortunately, there aren’t many restaurants offering the dish here in Metro Manila.

Harbour City Dimsum’s special steamed rice has a generous topping of diced pork and lots of minced garlic in a thick sauce. The restaurant has another variation of the steamed rice which has shrimps instead of pork.

The serving can be deceiving, because the thick rice is served to customers in small bowls. I remember having a hard time finishing one bowl as the rice is very filling and heavy to the stomach.

The steamed rice is just one of the many authentic dishes that this restaurant has. This dish is perfect with the different dumplings that Harbour City Dimsum also offers.

They have mushroom, shark’s fin, quail’s egg, empress roll, cabbage roll, bacon roll, and plain sio mai.

I remember enjoying the experience of selecting your choice of dumplings from push carts that waiters bring. Once the waiter removes the lid, one can see smell and see the steam coming out of the dumplings.

However, Dino Racho of Ultimate Cebu wrote that this kind of service is now obsolete because the dim sum house now has a counter for the dumplings.

One thing is for certain though. This dim sum house remains one of the best Chinese restaurants that one can visit in Cebu.
